Overview
This article outlines which identity documents are generally trusted, conditionally accepted, or not supported for verification purposes.
Level 1 Support must always consult Level 2 for confirmation before proceeding when there is any uncertainty or exception. This guidance should be used when reviewing customer-submitted identification and determining whether escalation is required.
Countries with Generally Trusted Issued Documents
Identity documents issued by the following countries are generally trusted and accepted, provided they are valid and unexpired:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States
Accepted Document Types from These Countries
Driver’s License
Residence Card
National Identification Card
Accepted Identity Documents by Category - ONLY ONE CAN BE ACCEPTABLE PER DOCUMENT. (Ex: If a DL is selected as a Primary Document, it cannot be selected again for Secondary.)
(2 Foreign Passports can be used if from different countries).
Primary Documents
The following are accepted as primary identity documents:
Driver’s License
U.S. Passport Book or Passport Card
Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
Foreign Passport
U.S. Military or Military Dependent ID Card
Secondary Documents
The following may be accepted as secondary identity documents, depending on the workflow:
Driver’s License
Foreign Passport
U.S. Passport Book or Passport Card
Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
Native American Tribal Identification Document
Exceptions and Special Client Rules
Some clients operate under expanded document acceptance rules:
Google: Accepts a broader range of international documents
DHS and HHS: Federal clients with an extended document list beyond standard acceptance
Unsupported Countries
Identity documents issued by all other countries not listed above are not supported
Exception: Passports from any country may be accepted only if successfully authenticated
Special Documents Not Currently Supported
The following documents are not supported and should not be accepted:
UK Proof of Age cards (PASS / CitizenCard)
UK Provisional Driver’s License (Photocard)
Indian PAN (Permanent Account Number / Income Tax) Card
If a customer presents one of these documents, advise them to provide an alternative supported document.

SRIP Support Guidance
Verify document type and issuing country before proceeding
Do not make exceptions outside the guidance listed above
Escalate to Level 2 if:
A document falls under an exceptional case
Client specific rules may apply
Authentication cannot be confirmed
